Event - World Book Day

On Thursday we celebrated World Day Book Day. The children were treated to stories and a range of reading-related activities throughout the day.
The costumes were great and we all enjoyed spotting our favourite book characters, although we were rather concerned that Fantastic Mr Fox was seen chasing two chickens around the playground!
Each class voted for their favourite book and our recommendations are:
- Rec B – Wolf Won’t Bite by Emily Gravett
- Rec H – Peter Pan by J M Barrie
- Year 1 – The Scarecrow’s Wedding by Julia Donaldson
- Year 1/2 – Hairy Maclary Stories by Lynley Dodd
- Year 2 – Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon
- Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 – Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
- Year 3 and Year 4 – Harry Potter by J K Rowling
- Year 5 – Granpa’s Great Escape by David Walliams
- Year 6 – Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russel
