Event - Science Week
w/c 17 October 2011
Wow! What a week it has been. We were overwhelmed by the response to the 'World's Greatest Scientist' Science Factor contest, the presenters in Tuesday's collective worship spoke clearly and with great interest.
The children have also been able to visit the forensic lab in the ICT room and find out more about footprints, collecting evidence, eye witness accounts and taking fingerprints, supporting their science investigation work in class.
Reception and Year 1 children took part in a dinosaur workshop and dinosaur dig to look at bones and footprints. Year 2 children went hunting for Mr Bones in the forest school and worked as a team to put him back together. In Year 4 we discovered that our foot length is the same as the distance between your wrist and your elbow!
Thank you to all the children for all their enthusiasm during the week - it has been a pleasure to hear all your exciting stories and ideas!
