Event - Candle Making

Year 1 and 2 children were able to try their hands at making candles this week as part of National Science and Engineering Week.

Laurel Armstrong demonstrated the changes that occured when solids and liquids are heated and cooled, through an interactive discussion and investigation on the changes occurring when a candle burns.

The children also investigated reversible and irreversible changes, transparency, opaqueness, translucency and colour-mixing.

Everyone was able to take home a fantastic personalised candle!
