Event - Year 4 at the Bakery

Children in Year 4 visited ‘Le Parisienne’, the bakery in Tewkesbury that supplies Budgens with their speciality breads.

Pupils were able to try a variety of delicious breads before going into the factory and having a go at shaping their own bread rolls, croissants and pain au chocolat. Hopefully parents have had a chance to enjoy the samples that the children brought home.

Back in school all the children in Year 3 and 4 made their own bread and voting for their favourite recipes. Budgens will be reviewing the chosen products and may choose one to develop into a new product to sell.

Our favourites were:

• Miss Drissell’s class – ‘Spring Garden’ with rosemary, poppy seeds, cheese and green pesto;
• Miss Powell’s class – ‘Garlic Bombe’ with cheese and Garlic;
• Miss Butler’s class – ‘Choc Bombe’ with chocolate chips and a honey glaze.
