Event - Year 1 and 2's Antarctica Adventure
February 2011
The children in Years 1 and 2 spent the day retracing the footsteps of Sir Robert Falcon Scott during an Antarctic adventure. The special day was a culmination of their cross-curricular work investigating the Antarctic.
The children spent the day identifying penguin species, mapping their route and camping in their tents. Finally they crossed the crevasse and Beardmore Glacier to reach the South Pole, only to discover they had been beating by Norwegian Roald Amundsen.
Thankfully, our children all returned safely to tell their tale!
