Event - Stargazing

24 January 2013

On Thursday 24th January we welcomed Robin, Dave and Kevin from the Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group.

We crowded into the vestibule for a visual demonstration from Robin and a question and answer opportunity. We braved the bitterly cold weather to observe the moon and Jupiter - with the spot clearly visable!

It was another fantastic evening, with many thanks to those who braved the cold and to Robin and his team at CNAAG.

If you want to do some amateur observing yourself, the best time to view is around mid February when an asteroid 45 metres in diameter and weighing around 130000 metric tons will pass close to the Earth on the night of 15/16th February 2013.

For further details visit their website (external link).

We hope to hold an open telescope workshop and observation evening in March. Further details coming soon.
