Event - Bidford School Remembers

11 November 2014

As the world remembered those whom have died as a result of conflicts past and present, the children of Bidford Primary School looked to make the occasion extra poignant.

Throughout an eight week programme of after school sessions, led by the teaching and support staff at the school, the parents, carers and children were invited to make clay poppies as an act of remembrance.

Influenced by those displayed at the Tower of London, we managed to create one hundred and eighty poppies which were displayed in a poppy formation upon the morning of Tuesday 11th November 2014.

The poppies are now to be sold in order to raise money for the British Legion but it is clear that the impact upon the children, and their understanding of the importance of remembrance, will remain long lasting.
